This associate level Process Technician role will be responsible for assisting in the scale up and process development of materials in Group14’s Moses Lake, WA facility. As needed, the Process Technician will also assist in the design, construction, and maintenance of process equipment.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING :

-Perform tests and analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments.

-Receive or collect and process samples.

-Calculate test results, log and report results using a computer.

-Prepare and supervise experiments.

-Perform quality control and calibrate equipment, if necessary.

-Assist in equipment and instrument troubleshooting.

-Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area.

-Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.

-Assist in ordering laboratory supplies.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR :

-High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

-1-2 years of experience working in a lab.

-Proficiency in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment.

-Mechanical experience, power and hand tools.

-Experience working with hazardous substances.

-Computer proficiency using various software, advanced Microsoft Office skills.

-Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.

-Strong attention to detail.

-Ability to write correspondence and reports.

-Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE :

-Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.

-Experience/expertise in thermal processing of advanced materials.

-The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

-Background in the lithium-ion battery space.

-Familiarity with operation of high temperature furnaces.

-Experience with analytical methods such as: Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), and BET.

-Mechanical aptitude/experience in equipment maintenance and operation.

-Cooperative team-player with the curiosity to learn new things and grow professionally.

The base pay range for this position is $24/hr - $30/hr. All positions come with a company bonus and stock options. The actual base pay offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.
