We are now looking for Country Tax Manager .

What You’ll Do

  • Reporting to international tax team: regular submission of requested tax questionaries and forms, obtaining and processing information requested by global team, providing expert opinion on the Russian tax consequences, updating global team on changes in business, tax approaches, new risks etc.

  • Business support: serve as a main contact point for business finance teams, discuss latest performance and potential issues, review suggested changes in business, new flows, agreements etc.

  • Routine compliance: there is a team fully covering this stream, so only final review is expected: review and approval of final tax calculation, tax returns and approval of accounts reconciliation.

  • Transfer pricing: Supervise regular profitability calculations performed by the tax team, provide input and review of TP documentations prepared by global TP-provider (B1), monitor submission of all TP-related mandatory forms (TP notification, CbCR, etc.)

  • Tax policy: regularly revisit tax policies to reflect most recent changes in tax law and tax environment.

  • Tax risk matrix: monitor and update tax risks matrix – assessment of risk level and magnitude.

  • Deferred tax calculation and submission: supervise calculation and submission of deferred taxes in accordance with US GAAP twice a year: in October based on September YTD and in January based on December YTD.

  • Internal control: review and update control matrix covering tax areas. Ensure all controls are executed and documented, act as a main representative from tax department during audits of internal controls.

  • ERP updates: monitoring updates required to EPR system (e.g. layout of VAT invoice), closely collaborate with IT department to make the changes implemented.

  • Tax reporting systems and applications: ensure that tax department has all required applications and licenses to execute its routine function.

  • Audit (tax): Serve as the main contact point for the tax inspectors as well coordinate efforts of Abbott functions which need to provide documents and information.

  • Audit (financial statements): Provide required tax calculations and discuss tax risks identified by the auditors (if any).

  • Advisors: build relationships with external advisors (Big-4, Baker/MV Russia, Pepelyaev etc.). Coordinate progress and deliverables prepared by advisors and budget spent.

Key Requirements

  • Higher education in Finance, Economics or Law.

  • Additional education (trainings/ certifications) in Tax specialization.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in tax advisory area or tax accounting practice.

  • Strong tax technical understanding.

  • Hands-on experience gained in an international environment.

  • Tax planning implementation experience.

  • Transfer pricing planning and documentation experience.

  • Exposure to a broad range of tax issues especially on an international and global level is a plus.
