ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY NON-CONTRACT AT- WILL POSITITION

POSITION

TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR

Full-time, Classified Exempt, 260 days/year

STARTING DATE

July 22, 2024 (if possible, include May 28-31)

SALARY RANGE

\$78,790 - \$86,865

Salary dependent upon education and experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Supervises and trains all transportation personnel. Collaborates with principals on bus routes and discipline of students when needed. Maintains records of all vehicles maintenance, mileage, and accident reports. Communicates with parents, when necessary, on bus routes, and student behavior. Works with and serves on committees at state level in transportation regulations, training, and safety. Works with the community (non-district) when needed for transportation. Supervises maintenance and troubleshooting of both gasoline and diesel engines. Has knowledge of hydraulic and air brake systems and other vehicle components. Develops and submits annual transportation budget. Has exceptional communication, verbal and written. Reports to Operations Director, Superintendent and school board members as requested on all phases of transportation.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.

Five (5) years experience in the area of public transportation and public-school safety, including supervisory responsibility and demonstrated aptitude and competence.

2.

Ability to develop bid specifications for purchasing student transportation equipment and district vehicles.

3.

Good computer skills in the areas of word processing, spreadsheets, database applications, and the use of the Internet.

4.

Communicate effectively with staff and the public in a positive manner.

5.

Able to acquire a valid Idaho Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with school bus (S), and passenger (P) endorsements and no air brake restriction.

6. Must reside in the Moscow School District boundaries.
