Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Our Logistics Information Services (LIS) team seeks one talented, highly motivated IT professional to fill a critical role as the Manager, Information Technology for the Caterpillar Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD). As an Manager, Information Technology you will have responsibility for a team that supports our IT Infrastructure for our North America facilities. The role provides IT leadership, manages staff as well as new project development, integration, and day to day operations support. The role requires coordination and communication across multiple business groups, ensuring planned infrastructure changes are aligned with critical customer requirements.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to a team of IT professionals.

  • Manages and reports out on the status of multiple key projects to leadership.

  • Coordination of infrastructure initiatives across multiple business groups.

  • Develop and maintain departmental expenses of $5 MIL (plus) to business affordability & OPACC targets.

  • Drive Strategic IT roadmap development based on business objectives and lead governance processes.

  • Perform vendor relationship management of strategic IT suppliers for PSLD technologies.

  • Directs the work efforts of the team to define, design, develop and implement innovative and cost-effective solutions.

  • Accountability for SOx Controls for LIS team.

  • Assess individual performance, provides feedback, and gives recognition to team members.

  • Coordinates with the Global LIS teams to ensure alignment.

  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

  • Monitors and communicates vendor effectiveness, reliability, and performance.

  • Influences existing and new vendor relationships and the approved vendor list.

  • Interprets documents detailing service provisions and financial arrangements.

  • Explains case studies of effective and ineffective partnering relationships and lessons learned.

  • Advises others on the issues and considerations for working with new vendors, suppliers, or partners.

  • IT Service Management (ITSM): Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) service; ability to manage IT services and oversee service operations.

  • Oversees the establishment and use of best practices in IT service management.

  • Leads in the development of information technology and personal technical skills.

  • Promotes the use of standard procedures in each function of IT services.

  • Creates criteria to measure professional services; ensures the quality of IT services.

  • Forecasts technological industry trends and potential risks in IT service management.

  • Provides insight into system optimization and development of process-focused IT services.

What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Previous Project Management experience, or Project Management Certification (PMP).

  • Working knowledge of Desktop Support, Networks, VDI, Cybersecurity, ITSM/Sox and Identity Management.

  • Previous experience/Knowledge of Parts Distribution, Warehousing, and/or Logistics function.
