Preschool Classroom Teacher

Since 1965, Capstone Community Action has supported individuals and families in Central Vermont in achieving
economic and housing stability and rising out of poverty. Capstones early childhood education and family services are
central to its mission, offering center-based and home-based Head Start and Early Head Start programs that support
positive child, family, and community outcomes that use a whole-child approach and actively engage parents as partners
in their childrens early learning and development.
Position: Capstones center-based early childhood program in Morrisville is seeking a Teacher to work collaboratively
with a team of other Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Family Advocates to provide full-day, high-quality services in the
Preschool Classroom. For an early childhood professional seeking an opportunity to support young children and families

Qualifications: Preschool Teachers are required to hold at least a Bachelors degree in early childhood education, or a
graduate degree with coursework equivalent to an early childhood education-related major. A current Vermont Agency
of Education teaching license with an endorsement in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary
Education is a strongly preferred qualification.

Excellent communication skills with both young children and adults.
Demonstrated competency in engaging in effective, nurturing interactions with children.
Ability to plan and implement appropriate, child-centered learning experiences.
Familiarity with community resources and supportive services.
Positive regard for and ability to engage with diverse populations and people with low incomes.
Ability to meet physical demands of working with young children in a center-based setting, including regularly
lifting 50-60 pounds; frequently standing, walking, climbing, stooping/bending, squatting/crouching; and
occasionally running/sprinting.
Commitment to leading and working collaboratively with a team toward shared goals and objectives.
Compensation & Benefits: This is a full-time, non-exempt position, with a 40-hour per week standard schedule and
competitive pay at \$22.67 \$26.56 per hour. Capstones full-time benefits program offers generous paid time off;
