Salary: $50,000

Duration: Temporary, full-time assignment; August 2024 - May 2025

Brief Description of Duties:

SUNY Morrisville seeks 2 Lecturers for our Communications and Composition department within our School of LASS. This is a full-time, temporary position teaching Communication courses in the division of General Education; courses include composition, communications, and other humanities courses.

  • Temp Position One: Fall 2024: 4 courses | Spring 2025: 4 courses

  • Temp Position Two: Fall 2024: 3 courses & Writing Specialist | Spring 2025: 3 courses & Writing Specialist

Additional responsibilities include student support and office hours, academic advisement, participating in monthly division and school meetings, college/university service, curriculum development, student recruitment, and continuing professional development.

Teaching assignments may be in a distance learning environment, including online classes, and may include nights, weekends, and offsite locations.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in English, composition, communications, or closely related field

  • Demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness including a demonstrated commitment to support student learning with the ability to engage a variety of learning styles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to demonstrate effective experience teaching online is a plus.
