WSP USA Finance Manager in Morristown, New Jersey

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Finance Manager for our Morristown office, New Jersey. Be involved in projects with our Mobility Operations Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • The Finance Manager is responsible for managing functions associated with supporting the front-line operations a Customer Service Center, internal process and performance monitoring for WSP Mobility Operations Program.

  • This program would serve a large customer base using toll facilities in the region. The scope of the program includes, responding to customers’ inquiries through omni channel contact center solutions, verification of transaction processing and payment processing.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or closely-related discipline (or demonstrated proven equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with Five (5) years of financial and accounting experience, including management or leadership position (e.g., Accounting Manager, Sr. Accountant, Accounting Lead) overseeing accounting operations in a GAAP compliant, high-volume, Transaction processing environment performing revenue management, process audits and similar functions

  • Three (3) years’ experience as finance manager for a tolling project

  • Develop accounting standard operating procedures including internal controls

  • Direct, monitor, and evaluate the activities and performance of the accounting activities/processes and accounting staff.

  • Monitor accounting systems and procedures and necessary updates.

  • Review and approve project purchase orders.

  • Oversee weekly payables and customer refunds.

  • Oversee preparation of daily and monthly journal entries

  • Oversee preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting and analysis for client

  • Oversee preparation of daily, monthly quarterly and annual reconciliations

  • Work closely with back-office software provider to assess, test and implement financial components of customized project specific operating software system

  • Perform evaluations of operating software and identify areas for efficiency and operational improvements and/or modifications to functionality.

  • Ensure daily and monthly key performance measures are successfully achieved

  • Participate in internal project meetings and client meetings

  • Interface with clients, subcontractors, vendors and internal/external auditors

  • Oversee internal audits such as monthly physical inventory audit

  • Oversee external audits such as SOC 1 Type II audit

  • Keep abreast of current accounting trends, practices, and developments in the profession including governmental accounting standards and regulations, GAAP and GASB.

  • Experience with Commercial Off The Shelf financial product

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

  • Proven ability to adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of this policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

This position is contingent upon WSP being selected for a contract or program we are currently pursuing.

Compensation and Benefits:

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.

Expected Salary: $160,000 - $185,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
