West Virginia Employer Hose Assembly Technician in Morgantown, West Virginia

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Hose Assembler, Level I is responsible for assisting hose assembly personnel in all areas of hose production including but not limited to cutting, skiving hose, installing various hose covers, packaging of hose, assembly of various components, pulling of parts, and other warehouse duties as required. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITIES: Assist Level 2 and 3 Hose Assemblers in the production of hose assemblies by preparing and gather parts to be used in hose assemblies which includes pulling and putting away parts from inventory. Preparing hoses to be crimped which includes cutting the hose to a specified length using both automatic cutting equipment and powered saws, skiving hose, preparing hose ends with stampings or markings as specified. Clean and testing of hose assemblies prior to packaging. Packaging of hose assemblies and various components which includes rolling and spooling of large diameters hose onto skids or reels. Installing various accessories to hose assemblies which includes adding additional hose covers and adapters. Assemble various components into assemblies using hand and powered tools. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, meetings, workshops, etc. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior experience using hand and power tools required. Must have good mechanical skills. Must be extremely detail oriented. Valid Drivers License required. Performs work under minimal supervision. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Proven ability to meet deadlines and follow directions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job duties consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Frequent walking and/or standing is required. Frequent bending, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying of parts. Ability to work safely and adhere to the Swanson Safety System in daily job duties.
