Our Morehead City Sales Terminal in Morehead City, NC is looking for a Production Supervisor. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.

What you’ll get to do

  • Supervise Terminal Operations ensuring quality service to customers, maintaining reliability of equipment, and maximizing use of labor to optimize operational efficiency

  • Management and leadership of company’s employees, policies, and procedures

  • Contribute on other projects and topics as a member of the Management Team

  • Maintain files and create reports for plant equipment, sales, and inventory

  • Coordinate terminal labor maintenance work force (scheduling and tracking maintenance, reviewing contract labor payroll documents) and monitor other measures

  • Oversight of Third Party carriers at the location

  • Manage, maintain, and ensure adherence to applicable legislation, regulations, permits and environmental health and safety policies and programs

  • Purchase terminal equipment and ensure supplies needed to maintain operations

  • Assist with development of operating and capital budgets

  • Manage contractors hired to assist with on-site maintenance by monitoring daily progress and quality of work, ensure issues are effectively resolved, and building strong working knowledge of equipment and operations

Essential Experience and Skills

  • At least 5 years materials handling or shipping experience

  • Previous supervisory experience

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and OSHA safety & environmental legislation and regulations

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

  • Excellent communication skills and the proven ability to skillfully interact with customers, contractors, and all levels of company personnel

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Demonstrated mechanical trouble shooting and equipment maintenance skills

  • Motivation, ability, and willingness to work hours required by the needs of the business, which may require flexibility, some weekends, nights, or perhaps holidays

  • Continuous Improvement mindset

Work Environment

  • Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
