WHO WE ARE

• Our Design Support Specialists are responsible for supporting various hardware engineering development programs through their design, fabrication, and test stages. This position involves an in-depth knowledge of LM policies and procedures for the handling & movement of classified hardware, material procurement, generation & answering of problem reports, etc. The role involves drawing checker for control drawings and Change Notices (drawing changes). This resource will interact directly with the GIDEP Lead (Government-Industry Data Exchange Program Lead) and the components engineering teams specifically for submitting non-standard parts approval requests to the Defense Logistics Agency.

THE WORK

On a daily basis the job entails:

1. Working as a Technical writer and checker for all A-Size Control drawings (procurement drawings), ensuring:

• Correct format checks (as prescribed by governing policies)

• Ensuring that proposed drawing changes comply with Component Engineering, Drafting, Configuration Management, program requirements and standards, as applicable

• Routing ECNs to additional reviewers, or return to originator for corrections, as appropriate.

2. Review control drawings and test requirement documents prior to release, ensuring:

• Correct format

• Clear, coherent, and correct content

3. Possessing prior experience with the GIDEP (Government Industry Data Exchange Program) is very much desired given the large amount of interaction that takes place.

4. Experience Nonstandard Parts Approval Requests (NSPARs).

5. Experience with SAP and Common Operating Systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Technical writing and editing experience

• Extensive knowledge of drafting/drawing standards

• Familiarity with EPDM, Change Notices, and Problem Reports

• Prior experience with Engineering change processes and change orders.

• Prior experience with incorporating outstanding ECNs.

• Proficiency with MS Word and Adobe

• Strong editorial and proofreading skills

• Ability to juggle tasks according to changing priorities

• Attention to detail

• Strong communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with various types of drawings (Control drawings, Hardware parts, etc)

• Knowledge of Moorestown configuration management practices

• Extensive knowledge of EPDM processes

• GIDEP access

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
