Job Description:

You may be required to complete a successful Background Check. If you have not done this, you will be required to complete a Personal Risk Assessment and Fair Credit Reporting Act Form.

1. Must have a satisfactory work record.

2. Must have or be able to obtain within 6 months a valid Colorado Class A. Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsements.

3. Must have a valid certification and extensive knowledge to complete annual DOT inspections on large trucks, pickups, and trailers.

4. Must have successfully passed or be able to pass within 6 months a shielded metal arc-welding bend & cutting test.

5. Must have completed the coursework and requirements to receive a diploma in diesel mechanics, equivalent certification from qualified training providers or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

6. Seven (7) years of progressive experience as an electric utility equipment mechanic, including an extensive working knowledge of hydraulic systems as applicable to aerial manlift trucks, diggers, and cranes. Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repair of full pressure, pilot pressure, electric over hydraulic and fiber-optic hydraulic control systems. Experience must also include the ability to diagnosis and repair diesel engines and drivetrain components including those with computer-controlled electronics.

7. Must have a working knowledge of the ANSI and OSHA requirements for inspections of equipment used in transmission line (including Live-Line work) and substation work including but not limited to bucket trucks, digger derricks, aerial man-lifts and cranes.

8. Ability to adapt to revised work times and long hours of work.

9. Must have sufficient knowledge of and skill in the safe use of mechanic’s tools and computer based diagnostic test equipment.

10. Must be able to work at various heights, up to 170 feet.

11. Must be willing to accept extensive and frequent out-of-town work with overnight travel (up to 80% of the time).

12. Must reside within 60 minutes response time to the reporting location.

13. Must be able to demonstrate the capability of performing all of the essential job functions of the position as described in the Job Description and Job Analysis.
