Summary/Objective: The Equipment Operator will operate heavy machinery for construction, demolition, and excavation projects.

Compensation & Benefits: The wage for this position is $28 per hour, dependent upon experience and ability. Full time regular employees in this position will qualify to participate in group health, dental, and vision insurance plans. All regular full-time employees are provided an employer paid basic life insurance policy, and eligible employees can participate in the Company's SIMPLE IRA retirement plan. This position is eligible for paid time off and sick leave benefits, after minimum time requirements are met. The Company also provides profit sharing bonuses twice per year.

Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the job Superintendent.

Operates construction, excavation, hauling and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, skip loaders, skid steers, curb & gutter machine, bulldozers, excavators, motor grader and dump trucks as requi Uses equipment for construction site demolition and/or excavation and to prepare building sites for utility installations, structural concrete, and exterior site concrete such as parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, etc. Transports tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sites Prior to operating equipment, conducts routine inspections needed for maintenance and repairs Monitors gauges and other indicators to ensure safe operation and overall performance of equipment Fuels and lubricates equipment as needed Performs or requests necessary repairs and adjustments to equipment Must be self-motivated and able to find activities to occupy time that will improve individual skills and job knowledge Performs other related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education: A high school graduate or equivalent

Experience: At least four (4) years of equipment operator experience

Required Knowledge & Ability: Valid driver's license and transportation Excellent verbal communication skills, bilingual a plus Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities Ability to read building plans related to structural concrete and land grades Excellent mechanical skills Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Able to take direction from supervisors, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the point being made, and asking questions, as appropriate Good deductive reasoning skills and ability to problem solve a plus Ability to adhere to industry standards and general safety procedures

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery, and must have the ability to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hour of Work: This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week.

Environmental Conditions: Extremely bright or inadequate lighting, sounds, noise levels can be distracting and uncomfortable, very hot or cold temperatures.

Work Attire: Wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats.

Travel: Periodic travel may be required for this position and would include travel pay.
