Job Overview:

As a Technical Product Owner for our Data Platform, you will be the key driver in shaping and delivering our data strategy. You will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our data platform meets the organization's goals for scalability, performance, and usability. Your role will involve defining product requirements, prioritizing features, and ensuring successful delivery of data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate a clear vision for the data platform that aligns with the company’s strategic goals.

  • Define and prioritize the product roadmap based on business needs, stakeholder input, and market trends.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and data scientists to gather and analyze requirements.

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and user stories for the development team.

  • Oversee the development and enhancement of data platform features, ensuring they meet quality standards and deliver business value.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to manage the product backlog, define priorities, and ensure timely delivery of features.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding product status, roadmap updates, and issue resolution.

  • Facilitate regular communication with stakeholders to gather feedback and make data-driven decisions.

  • Ensure that the data platform adheres to best practices for data governance, security, and quality.

  • Collaborate with data governance teams to implement and monitor data quality metrics and compliance standards.

  • Monitor the performance and usage of the data platform, using metrics and analytics to drive improvements.

  • Identify and address any issues related to system performance, scalability, or user experience.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform product strategy.

  • Evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance the data platform’s capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in a data platform or technology environment.

  • Strong understanding of data management concepts, data warehousing, ETL processes, and analytics.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business requirements.

  • Strong project management skills with experience in Agile methodologies.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.

  • Experience with data visualization tools, databases, and data platforms (Databricks, Azure Synapse).

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven track record of delivering successful data-driven products and solutions.
