About This Role

This position is exclusively open to students in the process of obtaining an academic degree

Internship date : September 3rd to December 20th 2024

The successful candidate will also receive the $6,000 CILA Award, which promotes female-identified students in STEM programs to encourage diversity and develop future industry leaders. In 2024, the CILA internship program will be awarding up to ten women enrolled in STEM programs at Universities and Colleges across Canada with a fully paid internship and executive mentorship . In addition, award recipients will receive a one-time $6,000* bursary (after tax) and the opportunity for full-time employment after successful completion of their program. During the paid internship, each award recipient will participate in cross-company learning activities and exciting project challenges to meet their academic requirements and develop their skillset as the next generation of STEM talent . The role we are offering you:

By joining our team, you will have the opportunity:

  • Participate in the standardization of the CAE-TRAX product: The evolving flight simulators series of Virtual Reality aerobatic training aircrafts and helicopters.

  • Coordinate, prepare and integrate the simulation software in the flight simulators environment.

  • Act as point of contact and technical reference for developers, project team, partners and customers.

  • Perform functionality tests on various aircraft systems in simulators.

  • Create / improve scripts to optimize the work environment in labs and on our simulator test sites.

  • Perform various software maintenance and configuration control tasks using the GIT Source Manager.

  • Participate in SCRUM meetings with the various engineering teams.

  • Use JIRA to track software development and integration tasks.

  • Programming languages ​​(C, C ++, batch, ANT, XML, Perl scripts).

  • Microsoft development tools for Windows platform (Visual Studio 6.0 and higher).

    Our ideal candidate has:

  • Knowledge of C, C ++ languages ​​in a Linux and Windows environment.

  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required .

  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems.

  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate technical meetings and facilitate communication between system engineers, managers, engineers and clients.

  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies .

  • Strong leadership and ability to work in a team.

    Preferred Education

  • 2 nd or 3 rd intern in computer science, computer engineering, electrical or mechanical engineering.

    CILA Award Qualifications

    To be eligible to receive the CILA Award, our candidates must identify as female and be enrolled in a STEM programme in at least their 2nd year working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Science , Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics, and will have experience in:

    • has a base understanding of programming languages in C, C++, C#, VBA, Java, or SQL

    • enjoys working in small teams and writing documentation and reports

    • has a strong work ethic, and is interested in learning new skills

    The following additional qualifications also apply:

    • Able to hold an Enhanced Reliability security clearance with the Government of Canada

    • Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident, or with a valid Work Permit

    • Able to meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Programme (CGP). All hires will be required to complete, sign, and return the Controlled Goods Programme form within a week of its transmittal. They must also provide a copy of their passport or birth certificate. All students with a work permit must provide a copy of it and a police clearance certificate from the country or countries where they have resided in the past five years

    Location of the internship is CAE Montreal.

    Internship will be carried out in hybrid mode
