Job Description:

This role is responsible for representing TD Wealth in the HNW and UHNW segment by 1) acting as a PB Relationship Manager (RM) for UHNW (FO) families and focus on client product/solution fulfillment, 2) cultivating HNW referral opportunities while ensuring a legendary client experience

CUSTOMER

  • Develop a pipeline and acquire new HNW clients through internal (TD Securities & NCA) and external sources (Segment 1) and establish contact planning practices to drive continued client engagement.

  • Apply deep knowledge of the following to ensure that clients receive a legendary HNW client experience:

  • 4 Pillars

  • Banking products and solutions

  • Banking processes systems and operations

  • Deliver a legendary HNW Client Experience to existing and prospective clients.

  • Conduct an in-depth discovery through goals-based discovery including client assets and risk tolerance and create a comprehensive Wealth Plan with tailored HNW strategies.

  • Onboard clients to PB and act as a trusted relationship manager for those introduced to PB ($5MM+ from Retail, external Segment 1 or Family Office related)

  • Identify referral opportunities and work collaboratively with other PWM partners to execute on an integrated plan with the goal of consolidating assets and ensuring TD is the clients' primary Financial Institution Work proactively with direct manager to develop improved client experience, operational and Practice Management practices, and overall personal development.

  • Represent Private Wealth Management and TDBG to the general public in a professional manner.

SHAREHOLDER

  • Complete financial transactions of increasing high complexity (deposit, credit, and Banking transactions); contribute to the achievement of business objectives by proactively attracting, acquiring, and retaining clients / advice opportunities and referrals, to increase profitability and enable business growth; this role is particularly responsible for achieving market share growth through acquiring business.

  • Promote and offer full suite of products, advice, services, banking and credit capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities in the existing Commercial Banking client base to refer to Wealth and other parts of TDBG to increase TD's share of wallet.

  • Maximize profitability through a consistent application of the Private Banking fees and pricing.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of PB, TDBG policies and procedures, industry trends and protect the interests and reputation of TDBG and its clients by continuous compliance to them.

  • Plan and execute business development activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly. Work closely with Business Banking partners to integrate on business development activities and events.

  • Promote and offer full suite of products, sales, services and banking capabilities.

  • Contribute to business objectives for Operational Excellence

  • Ensure necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all customer transactions / activities.

  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary.

  • Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines/ corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to provide guidance for complex situations. Be viewed as a key resource for Wealth/Private Banking to Business Banking and Commercial colleagues.

  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.

  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite. Maintain a higher level of credit and risk management acumen aligned with Commercial colleagues.

  • Assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct

BREADTH & DEPTH:

  • Seasoned professional with in-depth specialized expertise in a range of banking and credit products / services concepts and processes that could be characterized by high complexity / risk.

  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit with a proven track record of prospecting and successfully acquiring new clients.

  • Requires specialized knowledge of a range of product and services, processes, procedures and systems to provide clients with options and advice on highly complex banking and credit activities.

  • Required advanced understanding of concepts within their own area of specialty and integration points with related areas proactively engage & service clients in a high touch engagement model.

  • Sophisticated credit acumen to provide clients with the appropriate level of advice to support their unique / specialized financial needs.

  • Strong product knowledge across all asset classes that enable wholesome discussions on various wealth topics (tax planning techniques & structure i.e. holdco, opco, family trust, cross boarder issues etc.)

  • Influence relationships and broad network of external advisors

  • Communicates difficult sales concepts; converts information to compelling sales opportunities; influences and gains alignment across increasingly senior stakeholders.

  • Knowledge in lending and product solution fulfilment in Banking Products.

  • Deep knowledge of all credit, cash management, investments and specifically complex credit.

  • Proven ability to identify Banking, Wealth and Commercial opportunities for referral and fulfilment with other lines of business.

  • High degree of capability in building deep relationships with HNW clients and establishing HNW relationships with Private Banking and Private Wealth.

  • Strong knowledge of banking and risk, operations and procedures.

  • Execute business plan(s) and/or contributes to the development of sales strategy.

  • Adapts integrated plans and priorities to meet sales operational objectives.

  • Anticipates longer term resource requirements.

  • Identifies and solves complex sales operational problems.

  • Communicates difficult sales concepts; converts information to compelling sales opportunities; influences and gains alignment across increasingly senior stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

  • Post-Secondary or Undergraduate degree (in related field) preferred and / or

  • 5+ years relevant experience

  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC)

  • Completion of the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or the Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP within 36months from start date

  • Professional designations such as), the Certified Retirement Specialist (CRS), Chartered Strategic Wealth Professional (CSWP), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP) are an asset.

  • Professional Designations such as Master of Business Administration (MBA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Trust & Estates Practitioner (TEP) are desirable.

  • Highly skilled professional with minimum 7-10 years of experience in providing banking and credit services
