Created in 2015 to align, lighten and modernize infrastructure, the Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) team is the backbone and the future forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada. This is a hybrid role with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Your role

Under the supervision of Senior Manager, Capital Project Management, your duties will be following:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Engineering Director’s office, screens and determines priorities and provides specialized operational coordination and support to the Director and Managers of the unit.

  • Supervise administrative and support staff (team of 1 person) to provide procurement, contract administration and secretarial support to the project engineers/designers and managers.

  • Authorize expenditures on annual budget and payment of office related contracts and services.

  • Be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the unit’s business practices, workflow, and departmental procedures. Ensure that they are in accordance with the unit and corporate objectives. Interprets CBC policies and disseminates to staff. Ensure that proper internal controls are in place, and that corporate policy is applied.

  • Act as unit representative with HR, Business Affairs, Legal and Procurement Departments, Building Access / Security Administration and IT for CBC accounts.

  • Privy to and works with advanced confidential and sensitive information relating to organizational restructuring, budget issues, financial impacts and matters pertaining to labour relations relating to all affiliations.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Education in administration or equivalent

  • 4 years related experience at a senior administrative level

  • Familiarity with Engineering standards, terms and definitions, possessing a good understanding of Broadcast equipment and studio requirements. Excellent knowledge of office organization; advanced knowledge and experience with numerous computer software packages including MS Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, SAP and familiarity with the Atlassian suite

  • Strong organizational skills to be able to prioritize work, juggle multiple tasks on time with frequent interruptions, and pay attention to accuracy and detail

  • In depth knowledge of the Corporate structure, Capital Planning procedures, HR systems, financial policies and procedures and a thorough understanding of numerous SAP modules - an asset

  • Bilingualism - a strong asset
