Lyft Quality Assurance Engineer in Montreal, Canada

The Lyft Urban Solutions team in Montreal is growing, and we are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to be the driving force behind a comprehensive test strategy across our entire stack, from mobile applications, public web sites, backend services, smart microbility vehicles and smart docking stations. This is a hands-on position. You will schedule and participate in internal testing events, collaborate closely with product and engineering teams as they develop new features, and ensure every release we provide our customers is free of major defects.
Most technical interviews and interactions with the other offices in the company will be in English; however, the working environment in Montreal is bilingual.
Responsibilities:
Plan, create, and execute tests for validating Lyft’s systems and products
Document and execute integration tests for a variety of system components and interactions
Work with peers to improve the testability of our products
Plan our quality assurance activities with test automation engineers in order to ensure proper test coverage and optimal testing efficiency of our systems
Carry out fault management processes, ensuring timely support when urgent interventions are required
Identify and communicate potential risks and impacts
Design and implement test strategies to improve efficiency in manual testing
Help establish automation roadmap and architecture based on technology and our needs
Improve our existing test automation frameworks and infrastructure and support engineers in writing automated tests
Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code in order to test complex mobile applications and APIs that reference database back-end systems
Experience:
Experience in developing and documenting test plans, test cases and reporting bugs for complex features
Experience working on a variety of products: ( web, mobile, backend services, databases, IoTs, physical hardware)
Experience of prioritizing and coordinating work across a large domain space
Solid knowledge of best practices in Quality Assurance and also in test practices
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Good knowledge of hardware testing (asset)
Experience doing test automation (asset)
Experience in leveraging metrics to evaluate quality (asset)

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid
