Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Job Purpose: The Quality Inspector is responsible for identifying production defects and potential issues with raw materials / production processes and equipment that could lead to production defects or safety issues. The Quality Inspector works proactively to correct any issues before production processes are started and helps floor leadership develop a culture of quality first. The Quality Inspector leads by example and coordinates with the Shift Leadership team to ensure that goals are well communicated and met.

Reports To: Junior Quality Assurance Associate

Location: On-site at corporate headquarters in Monticello, IN

Department: Global Operations

Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product.
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance.
  • Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.)
  • Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
  • Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards.
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesnt meet requirements.
  • Provide direction and feedback to workers during shifts.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager/supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Coordinate with Shift Leadership to ensure that production issues are communicated and resolved.
  • Ensure plant staff adhere to established policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Represent the department in a positive and professional manner.
  • Willingness to assist other team members in production and support functions.
  • Other duties, as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Problem-sol ing and option-oriented mindset.
  • Adaptive task prioritization and resource management.
  • Strict attention to detail and an eye for continuous improvement.
  • Strong command of English language and good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean or Lean Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Bi-Lingual communication skills preferred (Spanish and/or Creole).

Working Conditions

Environment

  • This position is located in a factory/warehouse setting.

Essential physical requirements

  • Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and lifting throughout the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at one time.
