Job Description

Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure (OHAI) is transforming healthcare by leveraging AI and cutting-edge technologies to deliver advanced, automated, patient-centered solutions globally. The Oracle Health Data Platform Team is at the heart of this transformation, developing scalable and reliable data platforms to power Oracle’s healthcare products, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) solutions.

As Director of the Data Platform, you will lead the development and management of a high-performance data platform supporting Oracle’s evolving healthcare applications, including Electronic Health Records (EHR). This will include overseeing data migrations as we transition new and existing customers to a SaaS-based product suite and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with deep expertise in complex data environments and cloud migrations, as well as a passion for transforming healthcare through data-driven solutions.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, architecture, and maintenance of a data platform that powers complex, data-intensive healthcare applications. These systems serve millions of users, manage hundreds of terabytes (TB) of data, and support the future of healthcare through innovative technologies like AI and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will guide your team through the end-to-end lifecycle of complex data-intensive projects. By fostering a high-performance culture and aligning the team’s objectives with broader organizational goals, you will ensure long-term infrastructure stability, scalability, and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in software engineering/data architecture

  • 5+ years in a leadership role, preferably within healthcare or large-scale data environments.

  • Strong background in cloud-based data platforms and data migration strategies.

  • Proficiency in data engineering tools (Kafka, Spark, Hadoop), programming (Java, Python, SQL), and cloud infrastructure (OCI, AWS, Azure).

  • Proven ability to manage and mentor technical teams, balancing strategic vision with execution.

  • Experience with AI and machine learning applications is a plus.

  • Experience with healthcare data (EHR, FHIR, HL7) is a plus.

  • Experience leading cross organizational projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive technical vision and alignment with Oracle Health’s strategic goals.

  • Lead a team of engineers to develop and maintain a scalable, reliable data platform for healthcare EHR products.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

  • Oversee design and implementation of data solutions for large-scale, high-volume healthcare applications, ensuring performance, security, and compliance.

  • Utilize emerging technologies to address complex healthcare data challenges and deliver next-generation solutions.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the data platform meets user needs and integrates with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $122,500 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
