Role Description

Seeking a motivated, experienced Data Engineer with strong technical, logic and interpersonal skills who is up for the challenge of joining a high-performing Data Engineering / Analytics team. As a Data Engineer, you will work with our team of senior data engineers to develop and deploy complex data development solutions to meet the expanding needs of our client and business associates. You will grow to be a "go-to" person for advanced reporting and data processing tasks involving highly complex SQL queries, utilizing dynamic views, advanced joins and subqueries, functions, and other features of Microsoft SQL Server. We foster a supportive, collaborative, and fun environment where team members are empowered to push the envelope of learning and creativity.

As a Data Engineer you will work directly with business subject matter experts to transform business requirements into complex technical solutions while liaising with developers, applications/operational staff, technical project managers, test engineers and cloud engineers. You will develop automated, performant, streamlined processes that use multiple disparate data sources to create data solutions to meet business needs. You will creatively explore the boundaries of SQL Server capabilities to prototype, design and deliver optimal, and maintainable code while assisting with database design and production deployment and support activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. OR 4 years’ relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • 7 additional years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with programming or SQL or BI platform.

  • Experience working within an Agile development environment or development and testing activities

  • Must be a US Citizen or Authorized to work in the US (if not a citizen) and a resident of the US for at least 3 years within the last 5 years.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using Azure

  • Expertise in advanced Microsoft SQL Server programming of functions, triggers, and stored procedures

  • Experience in complex design of SSIS packages

  • Expertise in advanced query optimization

  • Extensive experience in requirements analysis and quality assurance

  • Exceptional problem analysis and resolution capabilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel data processing (including custom macro development)

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with leadership, clients, management and peers

  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in communications and documentation

  • Working knowledge and experience with GitHub

Compensation Ranges

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
