Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Engineer to oversee OCI cloud architecture, ensuring it meets the needs of various teams, including software development, high-compute, ML/AI, and IT. This role requires a strong technical background in cloud security, automation, and architecture, as well as the ability to act as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will manage cloud costs, implement best practices, and provide secure and reliable OCI cloud infrastructure in support of our government customers.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Own the design, evaluation, and decision-making for OCI cloud architecture, frameworks, protocols, APIs, and services.
Establish and enforce cloud design practices, development tools, and validation requirements.
Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and cost optimization in all technical decisions.
Develop and maintain the technical roadmap for OCI cloud implementation within customer environments.
Act as the technical and solution expert for OCI infrastructure and services.
Design and deliver end-to-end OCI solutions in support of customer requirements.
Evaluate existing technologies and work within Oracle teams to implement best practices for cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate with multiple technologists, product managers, and engineering teams to assess requirements and prioritize development efforts.
Drive innovation and efficiency in cloud operations.
Ensure compliance with security guidelines, including SCCA and DoD accreditation requirements.
Key Requirements & Experience:
U.S. Citizenship & Active Secret Security Clearance : Ability to maintain DoD security clearance.
6-10+ years’ experience in Computer Engineering or related technical field.
Cloud & Security Certification: Must possess relevant cloud and security certifications.
DevSecOps & Automation: Strong experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Packer.
Code Repositories: Familiarity with GitLab or similar version control systems.
DoD Security Practices: Experience with DoD security requirements, including scanning, host-based security, and STIGs (e.g., ACAS, HBSS, STIGs, etc.).
Networking Expertise: Solid understanding of OCI networking and isolation features.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work in multi-functional teams, reporting to senior DevSecOps and Architecture leads.
Linux & Windows Administration: Primary work in Linux, but Windows administration experience is a plus.
Containerization & Cloud Orchestration: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos, or similar technologies.
Performance & Scalability: Strong ability in cloud orchestration, capacity planning, and software performance analysis.
Strong Communication Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to present and document solutions effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with government SCCA frameworks.
Background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) for cloud-native systems.
Proven ability to support production, test, and development environments for medium to large-scale user bases.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
