We are currently seeking a Corporate Junior Attorney. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance across various legal domains, and serving as a liaison between our legal team and other departments. With corporate legal experience, you will bring your expertise in contract management, compliance issues, and data protection to the forefront, becoming a cornerstone of our legal operations. This is a hybrid role in our corporate headquarters in Rockland County, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Legal Compliance and Privacy Protection:

  • Serve as the primary contact for legal advice between the legal department and customer support, focusing on legal issues, data protection, and privacy compliance.

  • Guarantee adherence to all pertinent privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection laws.

  • Partner with the legal team to meticulously review and analyze lease contracts, ensuring they are in line with legal requirements and company policies.

  • Keep abreast of evolving privacy and data protection laws, modifying company practices to sustain compliance.

  • Contract Review and Compliance:

  • Execute detailed reviews of lease contracts to ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts are compliant and to identify potential risks.

  • Offer legal guidance and solutions for contract-related issues.

  • Transactional Legal Support:

  • Provide comprehensive transactional legal support across various lines of business.

  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts, ensuring they support business objectives while mitigating legal risks.

  • Conduct thorough legal research to support privacy and other legal needs, contributing to informed decision-making and strategy development.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Foster open communication with internal teams and external parties.

  • Promote a collaborative approach to achieve legal compliance and fraud prevention goals.

  • Provide administrative support and conduct research to assist legal counsel in various legal areas

  • Draft well researched and articulate legal briefs memos and contracts by analyzing statues and recorded judicial decisions, contracts, legal articles and legal code

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate legal setting.

  • Strong background in contract management, particularly in business development and real estate ventures.

  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, security laws, data protection, and privacy laws including GDPR and CCPA.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
