DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Production Operator at PPG's Monroeville Research & Development, you will be a crucial part of our Specialty Synthesis Group (SSG) operations responsible for process development and manufacturing of photochromic dyes, OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) materials and optical coatings, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people's lives!

Location- Monroeville, PA

Rotating Shift: Work Schedule: 1st shift, Mon-Fri. (6:00 am - 2:00 pm) and 2nd shift, Mon-Thur. (2:00 pm - 12:00 am) Shift differential for 2nd shift. Shift Rotates every week.

Pay Rate: $47, 150 annually, non-exempt. Depending on skill(s) and experience higher rate of pay may be considered.

Key Responsibilities * Multi-step organic reactions in a plant environment (50 L to 400 L scale). * Running reactions/purifications according to batch sheet. * Modify batch sheets and other procedures as needed. * Collaborate effectively with variety of people with minimal supervision. * The position involves blending, measuring, and producing raw materials to manufacture industrial coatings. * You will work in a production environment with a high level of safety awareness and adhere to all appropriate safety procedures in place.

Qualifications * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day. * High School diploma or equivalent. * Production and scale experience in a similar plant or laboratory environment. * Chemical and manufacturing experience preferred. * Exposure to some inorganic and organic college chemistry lab experience preferred. * Mechanical aptitude and high level of safety awareness. * Attention to detail and documentation skills and excellent organizational and communication skills. * Strong problem solving, initiative, and knowledge of PC applications. * Interpersonal skills, interact with all levels of organization, and able to work in a team environment. * Ability to work overtime as needed.
