JOB SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Engineer aids the manufacturing team in producing parts more efficiently by implementing new technology, incorporating the latest industry techniques, and creating and maintaining robust work instructions. Researches, improves and cost justifies manufacturing techniques, processes, and procedures to reduce costs while maintaining schedules and improving the product. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate manufacturing performance according to production plan to uncover inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization.Stay up to date and present solutions using the latest industry equipment & techniques.Develop and maintain a feature configuration catalog. Each configuration should be accompanied by a standard manufacturing method, along with documented lessons learned and best practices.Development and implementation of a tool management system for tracking tool dimensions, recommend speeds and feeds, and estimated tool life base on material.Design and run manufacturing test jobs to prove out new manufacturing techniques. Each test should include benchmark criteria such as: statistical process control (SPC), tool life, and cycle time, which will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the new manufacturing technique.Become a department technical expert, identify ways to optimize and improve production performance, and ensure knowledge is transferred, not only locally, but also throughout the business.Create process documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and risk assessments to control the implementation of new processes, new equipment, and design changes.Manage process-drawing approvals prior to release of the manufacturing floor.Support the manufacturing team to resolve day-to-day issues by leading plant investigations to resolve technical and operational issues quickly and effectively.Create and maintain standard process routings for repeat parts.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Technology, or other related technical degree with comprehensive related experience.Preferred knowledge or experience with any of the following product line:

Hydraulic Valves, Reservoirs, Accumulators, PumpsHydraulic Power PacksLinear and Rotary Electro-mechanical actuatorsBall-screws, Roller Screws, ACME ScrewsGears, Splines and Planetary Gear SetsElectronic Enclosures

Preferred experience with the following:

Manufacturing processes used to make these types of productsMaterials and Processes used for these type of productsFinishes and tolerances associated with these type of products

Minimum of 5 years engineering experience or relative aviation technical experience. QUALIFICATONS:

Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, or AS9100. Familiarity with AS9100 would be an advantage, but is not required.Siemens NX or SolidWorks experience preferred.Understanding of manufacturing processesAbility to work within cross-functional teams to meet project goals.Demonstrated technical and organizational leadershipStrong presentation skills

Textron’s compensation package includes competitive base pay and provides eligible employees with benefit programs. The pay range should be used as a general guide only. Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is

$86,680.00 - $173,030.00 per year.
