Ventower Industries Senior Accountant in Monroe, Michigan

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the CEO/President, the Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for the overall financial reporting and controls for all Great Lakes Towers dba Ventower Industries activities. The right candidate will be organized, self-motivated, understand the importance of GAAP and be able to work at a fast pace and in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepares financial and cash forecasts by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data.   • Produce monthly and as needed Financial Statements, supporting schedules and general ledger account reconciliations. Ensure that the reported results comply with GAAP.  • Supervise accounting staff. • Support the hourly payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and collections functions. • Prepare and file Sales/Use/Withholding tax returns. • Manage company credit cards. • Maintain sufficient balances and process bank transfers for all bank accounts. • Oversee reconciliations for all bank accounts and daily cash reports. • Coordinate bank audits & year-end review with outside CPA Firm • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential. • Special projects and other duties when assigned. REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to work on site and in person full time.  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Ability to work in the manufacturing setting. • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. • Accounting designation or an equivalent combination of related experience and education. • 5+ years of accounting and/or financial management experience in the manufacturing sector preferred. • Expert with Microsoft, ERP, and ADP payroll.
