Axient is currently seeking experienced Systems Engineers for projects and technology development in Air Traffic Management within the National Airspace System.

SEs will perform various systems engineering activities including developing SE procedures and processes, requirements management, configuration management, tracking metrics, measures of performance, risk management, technical review, developing and reviewing Systems Engineering plans, documentation and contract deliverables.

Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE ) experience is a big plus.

What you will do...

• Technical leadership

• Requirements management (develop, update, allocate, track implementation, control changes)

• Establishing refine and document technical and Systems Engineering processes

• Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

• Develop and review Systems Engineering and Management Plans

• Use Cases and Scenarios development, refinement and traceability to high level objectives and system requirements

• Work with Researchers and Technical Leads to identify success criteria, Measures of Effectiveness (MoEs), Measures of Performance (MoPs), Key Performance Parameters (KPPs)

• Develop and update System Architectures and Requirements

• Requirements verification and validation

• Interface and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) management (define, document, control)

• Develop system engineering work products (e.g. requirements, architecture, APIs, sequence diagrams, use cases, scenarios, test plans, metrics, decision tracking)

• Identify, track and assess technical risks and develop mitigations

• Configuration Management

• Manage SE team members in support of simulations and research activities  (i.e. assign task, provide guidance, weekly tag-ups)

• Coordinate with NASA partner projects and their development teams for integrating and testing

• Develop, review and approve Test Plans

• Analyze test data and document metrics and close out reports

• Tech Transfer documentation development

• Project schedule reporting and maintenance

• Review contractor deliverable for requirements verification

• Mentor and train on Systems Engineering practices, processes and application

Skills you will need...

Requirements:

• Ability to understand project needs, goals and objectives and translate them into a technical solution

• 3-5 years experience in Systems Engineering

• BEng or BS degree in a technical field

• In-depth familiarity with systems engineering

• Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

• Experience as a technical lead with system-level responsibilities

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to present information clearly to a diverse audience

• Current U.S. Citizen or U.S. person status.

Ideal candidate would have additional experience in:

• Softwaredevelopment

• Familiar with Air Traffic Management within the National Airspace System

• NASA systems engineering processes and requirements

• Agile software management and development

• Depth and knowledge of aeronautics

• Knowledge of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), Urban Air Mobility (UAM), and/or Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)
