Mobile Area Interfaith Conference Chaplaincy Coordinator in Mobile, Alabama

Chaplaincy Coordinator The Chaplaincy Jail Administrator will play a crucial role in promoting spiritual well-being, providing support to inmates, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment within the jail setting. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of chaplaincy services within the Mobile County Metro Jail. Job Responsibilities: Chaplaincy Program Management:

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive chaplaincy program that addresses the spiritual needs of all faith traditions of inmates housed in Metro Jail.
  • Coordinate religious services, ceremonies, and counseling sessions in collaboration with chaplains and religious volunteers.
  • Coordinate Christmas distribution, Gift of Love and hygiene distribution for inmates.

Pastoral Care and Counseling:

  • Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to inmates in a non-judgmental and empathetic manner.
  • Collaborate with chaplains and religious volunteers to ensure the availability of pastoral care services for individuals of various faiths.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training and orientation for chaplains and religious volunteers to ensure they are equipped to address the unique challenges of a correctional environment.
  • Facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for the chaplaincy team.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of chaplaincy activities, including attendance at religious services, counseling sessions, and special events.
  • Prepare regular reports on the impact and effectiveness of the chaplaincy program.

Death Notification Planning:

  • Work closely with jail officials, medical professionals, and other relevant parties to gather accurate and sensitive information regarding the deceased.
  • Develop a plan for the notification process, taking into consideration cultural and religious sensitivities.

Qualifications: High School Diploma and proficient experience in office and ministerial care.
