The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, documenting, and validating the migration process, ensuring the security and performance of our applications throughout the transition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning & Preparation:

• Document the current environment, including on-premises WAF setup (applications, traffic profiles, virtual servers, pool members, security policies, rules, load balancing methods, SSL configurations, WAF policies, HTTP profiles).

• Inventory on-prem sites where WAF is applied and document all settings in the current on-prem WAF.

• Define the migration scope, including deciding which services or applications will be moved first and coordinating with stakeholders to define the migration schedule.

• Document all steps needed to migrate to a SaaS WAF, including WAF security policies, rules, traffic trends analysis, and stakeholder coordination.

• Develop a communication strategy with the account management and application teams.

• Create method of procedure documentation that includes all prerequisites, main actions, and post-action sanity checks.

• Migrate Application Configurations:

• Document virtual servers/applications in the SaaS WAF, including virtual servers, pools and nodes, and SSL profiles.

• Document security policies such as Web Application Firewall (WAF), BOT protection, or API protection in the SaaS WAF.

• Map SaaS WAF log fields to Splunk equivalents to ensure proper SEIM ingestion.

• Coordinate integration of SaaS WAF with Splunk cloud.

• Testing:

• Validate non-production tests to ensure functionality before moving production traffic.

• Monitor performance metrics, security policies, and failover procedures.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in information security, particularly with WAF setups and configurations.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex security issues.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to work independently and lead a team through complex projects.

• 3-5 years of Information Security experience

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with F5 WAF and Splunk integration.

• Knowledge of Web Application Firewall (WAF) policies.
