Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivatedSite Construction / Contract Administratorto join ourProject Delivery Group(PDG) as part of our Construction Management Team to provide field services for the construction of water/wastewater facilities. The Project site is located in the Innisfil, Ontario region.

As the successful candidate, reporting to the Construction Services Lead, you will have the following Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing on-site representation for vertical multi-disciplined construction projects in water and waste-water sector

  • Providing daily construction oversight

  • Coordinating multi-disciplined construction inspections as required for the work being performed.

  • Perform contract administration duties as well as coordinating site inspections to monitor Contractor progress, workmanship, and conformance with the contract documents.

  • Communicate regularly with the Client, the Contractor project teams, internal Hatch design teams, and act as an Ambassador of Hatch in communicating with the public and other stakeholders through the duration of the construction contract.

  • Ensure adherence to established Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulations within a COR registered environment.

  • Review and adhere to Hatch’s health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies.

  • Perform regular formal or informal workplace HSE inspections.

  • Those duties specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution; or a Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering Design, Construction, Construction Management, or equivalent field from an accredited college.

  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in a construction role.

  • Experience working for a consulting engineering firm and/or a construction firm.

  • Experience in water/wastewater treatment facility design and construction is an asset.

  • Experience with multi-discipline design coordination and construction.

  • Experience with monitoring and coordinating activities on a construction project including liaising with the Client, Contractors, Approvals Officers, and Public as required.

  • Experience with administration of various forms of construction contracts with values up to $300M, including the leading of meetings and preparation of documentation including agendas, contractual minutes of meeting, daily logs, photographic records, request for information, testing reports, change management, deficiency lists, construction certificates, handover documentation and contract closeout.

  • Experience with start-up and commissioning of mechanical systems, as well as post-construction warranty services is an asset.

  • Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a committed team player.

  • Valid driver’s license.
