Summary of Responsibilities as the Collections Specialist

*Maintain and update customer files to ensure data integrity *Act as liaison in maintaining quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries *Guarantee the processing of payments *Log all customer payments to the correct reports *Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, including skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment *Attend to inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence *Accurately process bankruptcy filings when received *Abide by all rules and regulations established by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act *Responsible for billing and reports

Requirements of the Collections Specialist Role

*Accounting education/background recommended *Previous experience in Collections or relative prior accounting experience preferred *Able to meet tight deadlines *Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills *Be able to effectively analyze and make decisions on customer accounts *Knowledge of various Accounting software preferred *Organized *Detail oriented
