JOB SUMMARY

The Nurse Technician provides direct patient care using the nursing process under the direct supervision of the RN or LPN.

JOB DUTIES

1. Actively demonstrates the organization’s mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.

2. Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.

3. Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges.

4. Provides direct patient care according to age specific guidelines and established policies and procedures.

5. Performs selected nursing procedures after validation of skill level by a Registered Nurse.

6. Communicates patient related data and requests to appropriate team members.

7. Assists in meeting the patient’s nutritional needs.

8. Assists with ambulation to include walkers, canes, prostheses, etc.

9. Maintains a safe environment by adhering to hospital policies and procedures for isolation techniques, use of restraints, and prevention of falls. Reports any unsafe condition to the appropriate associate.

10. Documents and reports care delivered per policy.

11. Performs other related duties as assigned or as workload or staffing variations require.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES

Education: Currently attending and in good standing at an accredited school of nursing.

Licensure: CPR certification on hire or able to attain within 60 days.

Experience: Satisfactory completion of a minimum of one (1) clinical semester equivalent to a fundamental in nursing course.

Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/or organizational needs.
