Job Title: Materials Manager
Job Description
As a Materials Manager, your primary responsibility is to ensure the timely availability of materials, parts, and products in the correct quantities to support operational needs. This role involves overseeing all aspects of materials management including planning, inventory control, demand forecasting, and supplier management. Key objectives include optimizing inventory levels, reducing costs, and guaranteeing material availability for production or distribution. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to meet these goals.
Hard Skills
5+ years of Materials Management/Supervision Experience with 5+ direct reports
Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
Experience in customized, short-run manufacturing processes including establishing min/max levels, safety stock, demand forecasting
Experience with any ERP software
High School Diploma
Soft Skills
Ability to develop and implement inventory control strategies
Strong analytical skills for demand forecasting
Quality control adherence
Cost control and budget management
Team leadership and management
