Overview

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the development and implementation of governance strategies, frameworks, and standards across the organization, with a focus on Agile architecture delivery. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of enterprise architecture, governance, Agile methodologies, and industry best practices.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation or evolution of the EA function, including the coordination of an appropriately balanced pursuit of enterprise information systems, data, technical and solution architecture viewpoints stakeholders, product owners and agile development teams.

  • Understanding, advocating, and supporting the enterprise's business and IT strategies

  • Leading the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to derive enterprise business, information, technical and solution architecture requirements; analyzing industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the enterprise.

  • Analyzing the current business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.

  • Leading and facilitating the creation of governing principles to guide solution decision making for the enterprise.

  • Ensuring that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities (such as handling waivers) are associated with EA compliance.

  • Leading the development of an implementation plan for the EA, based on business requirements and IT strategies, overseeing EA implementation, ongoing EA refinement activities, and the documentation of all EA design and analysis work.

  • Consulting with program/project teams to fit solutions to architecture across all viewpoints.

  • Defining organizational requirements for the resources, structures, and cultural changes necessary to support the EA.

  • Promoting the EA process, outcomes, and results to the organization, including the enterprise's IT and business leaders; this includes assessing (through appropriate metrics) and communicating the achievement and impact of the EA, as well as leading the development and execution of an EA communication and education plan.

Additional Responsibilities

Governance Strategy:

  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture governance strategies aligned with business objectives.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with industry trends and regulatory requirements.

Governance Framework:

  • Design and implement enterprise architecture governance frameworks, including policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Agile Architecture Delivery:

  • Lead Agile architecture delivery teams to design and implement scalable and flexible solutions.

  • Collaborate with product owners and scrum master’s to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Governance Metrics:

  • Develop and implement governance metrics and reporting to measure compliance and effectiveness.

Risk Management:

  • Conduct governance assessments and risk analyses to identify areas for improvement.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including data privacy and security.

Communication:

  • Lead and facilitate governance committees and working groups to ensure stakeholder engagement and buy-in

Documentation:

  • Develop and maintain documentation and artifacts, including governance frameworks, policies, and standards.

Emerging Trends:

  • Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in enterprise architecture governance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, governance, and Agile architecture delivery

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field

  • Professional certifications like TOGAF, Zachman, or GARTNER

  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and governance models

  • Strong understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and strong leadership skills

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of all components of a holistic EA

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or mobile device

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
