MINOCQUA HEALTH AND REHAB Licensed practical nurse in MINOCQUA, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you play a vital role in our clinic. Without you, we would not be able to fulfill our purpose! You provide total care for our residents, starting with carefully monitoring their condition and needs. You follow physician orders to administer medications and treatments, ensure the narcotic policies and procedures are followed, monitor for side effects, and report any changes in the condition of residents. You also oversee the nursing assistant-registered (NAR) staff to make sure that resident care plans are being followed. With a close eye for detail, you complete documentation as well as admit and discharge residents. You take great care to report any bruises, skin tears, or neglect that you find when caring for your residents. You live up to the trust of those in your care by maintaining confidentiality and following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) requirements as well as upholding our facility policies and procedures. Your warm and friendly demeanor makes it easy for you to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and your colleagues. Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients\' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action. Measure and record patients\' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration. Administer prescribed medications or start intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patients\' charts. Provide basic patient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations. Answer patients\' calls and determine how to assist them. Supervise nurses\' aides or assistants. Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other healthcare team members as necessary. Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions. Record food and fluid intake and output. Assemble and use equipment, such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, or oxygen suppliers. Collect samples, such as blood, urine, or sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples. Prepare or examine food trays for conformance to prescribed diet. Help patients with bathing, dressing, maintaining personal hygiene, moving in bed, or standing and walking. Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures. Apply compresses, ice bags, or hot water bottles. Sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave. Make appointments, keep records, or perform other clerical duties in doctors\' offices or clinics. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN) LPN licensure with the WI Board of Nursing Current CPR certification Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPPA regulations Desire to work with the elderly Experience in medical, surgical, or geriatric nursing is preferred but not required.
