POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking skilled and experienced HVAC Technicians and Engineers to join our team. Ideal candidates will have a background in HVAC systems in commercial facilities. Our technicians and engineers assess and optimize building HVAC systems for our clients in the Midwest and west coast. Team members play an important role in ensuring the optimized performance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. We enjoy a reputation for integrity and responsible performance. We have offices located throughout the United States but offer remote work environments. This position allows the opportunity to travel the USA, working on a team of individuals to improve building environments. The successful candidate will have a pragmatic and applied approach, enjoy working in the field, and effectively interact directly with customers and contractors. They will have a strong attention to detail. and will possess strong communication and influencing skills. This person will also be self-directed, but thrive in an environment where consultation and collaboration lead to superior outcomes. TAB Certified Professionals and Technicians will: Develop and plan TAB work. Handle report preparation. Posture systems and take performance measurements. Adjust and balance airflows. Calibrate Airflow Measuring Stations. Recommend corrective actions. Maintain instruments and calibration program. Review, check, sign and stamp final reports. Other responsibilities will include: Execute Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) functional tests, including point verification and sequence tests. Perform inspections to ensure HVAC installations conform to project documents. Evaluate as found HVAC system performance against desired performance criteria, including identifying opportunities to improve equipment and system performance. May be asked to adjust, calibrate, and repair HVAC components, dampers, valves, and control systems to achieve specified performance parameters in limited fashion. Assess, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues related to HVAC systems, including airflow, temperature, and pressure imbalances. Document measurements and prepare reports of field activities and equipment performance data. Additional responsibilities may include: Assist other KFI personnel in the creation of, or witnessing of, other systems tests such as electrical, lighting, life safety, fire protection, or plumbing systems. Performs reviews, focusing on MEP system applications, value and energy efficiency. Reviews MEP submittals for conformance to design documents and owner s best interests. Conducts building performance evaluations and audits, including commissioning, re-commissioning, energy and retro-commissioning activities. Act as a Project Manager, including developing a project plan, requesting and securing resources, and keeping the project on track for on time delivery. Also ensures that all project work is properl documented and reported. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Required: A High School diploma and a minimum of 2 years of TAB related fieldwork experience OR an Associate degree (or equivalent military training) with a minimum of 1 year of TAB related fieldwork experience Willingness to complete Test and Balance certification within six months of hire. KFI will sponsor successful candidates for completion of the certification process. (As per the NEBB TAB certification requirements). Valid driver's license. OSHA 10 certification required, if not in possession at time of hire, must be willing to obtain within 60 days of hire. Hands on experience working with Microsoft Office Suite. Travel: May include up to 75% domestic travel While headquartered in the greater Minnesota area, this role requires frequent travel to the West Coast. We typically do not work on weekends. Candidates must be willing to travel Sunday night Thursday night or Friday morning (typically a 4-day, 10-hour per day, work week) and average at least 2 weeks per month.
