Our research, teaching, and outreach reflect a commitment to interdisciplinary and intercultural engagement with educators, scholars, and policy makers seeking to enhance leadership, policy, and development around the globe. We seek nominations and applications for a tenured Associate or Full Professor in Evaluation Studies. This individual will contribute to teaching, research, and service in the area of program evaluation in contexts such as education, foundations, government, health, corporations, community-based organizations, and other non-profit or for-profit settings. This is a 9-month, full-time appointment located on the Minneapolis campus with a target start date of August 25, 2025. Summer employment is a possibility but is neither required nor guaranteed. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Rank The position is at the Associate level, preferably with 5 or 6 years at this level, or Full Professor level. To hire with tenure at the Associate and Full Professor levels, the successful candidate needs to demonstrate a record of scholarship that meets the criteria for tenure at the University of Minnesota (7.12 Statement). This is a full-time, nine-month appointment with a start date as soon as possible or by Fall 2025. Job Responsibilities We look for someone to conduct original research and provide instruction related to the theory and practice of program evaluation. Expertise in the theory, research, and application of evaluation methodologies for diverse populations in organizational and/or community settings is sought. The successful candidate will offer leadership, curriculum development, advising, and teaching within graduate degree programs in Evaluation Studies and related disciplines. Faculty across program areas in OLPD are also invited to contribute to undergraduate education. Responsibilities for this role encompass, but are not limited to, the following: Research: Develop, demonstrate, and maintain a record of excellence in scholarship pertinent to Evaluation Studies, including peer-reviewed publications and funded research. Likely research areas may include: Research on cutting-edge evaluation methods and practices Program evaluation in diverse settings Evaluation's role in promoting social justice Evaluation theory Interdisciplinary approaches to evaluation Historical and contemporary trends in evaluation Teaching and Advising: Provide and support graduate instruction in Evaluation Studies: Teach two courses per semester, with primary responsibility toward graduate instruction in Evaluation Studies Contribute to designing new courses and program development Advise graduate students in Evaluation Studies and/or in other program areas in OLPD Serve on committees of graduate students in Evaluation Studies and in other program areas in OLPD, CEHD, and other units of the University Supervise master's and doctoral student research in conducting research on evaluation, and support students in other disciplinary areas Service and Outreach: Participate in meetings and/or coordination of the Evaluation Studies degree programs, the Program Evaluation minor, and the Program Evaluation certificate Participate in the activities of relevant professional organizations Participate in department, college, University, and community service and other outreach A tivities Qualifications Required Qualifications An earned doctorate in evaluation, educational psychology, human resource development, or other closely related fields Evidence of a commitment to promoting diversity and cross-cultural perspectives and understanding through research, teaching, and/or service/outreach Record of publication and evidence of continuing research in evaluation and/or closely related fields Demonstrated skill in applying both quantitative and qualitative inquiry methods and analysis techniques in evaluative studies Evidence of or potential for a national and international scholarly reputation in evaluation Evidence of experience and effective teaching skills for graduate instruction related to Evaluation Strong record of teaching and advising Preferred Qualifications Evidence of success in contributing to academic program development Familiarity with foundational and contemporary issues in the field of program evaluation, including but not limited to: culturally-responsive evaluation, social justice, professionalization, and cross-cutting theories Demonstrated capacity to collaboratively develop evaluative studies with diverse communities and organizations Previous employment or consulting experience in non-profit, for-profit, or public sector organizations Evidence of experience and effective teaching skills for undergraduate education related to evaluation and similar fields Evidence of technological literacy and online teaching experience About the Department At OLPD, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders, policymakers, and changemakers.
