Ameriprise Financial Staff Actuary in Minneapolis, Minnesota

"Ameriprise Financial has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Actuary to join our team! This individual will be responsible for developing, improving, operating, and documenting a variety of complex actuarial models. You will also perform actuarial, financial, and risk analysis, and communicate the results to others across the company in addition to serving as the subject matter expert in assigned projects and may have an expanded scope and responsibility within a project.Key ResponsibilitiesMajor contributor on the team responsible for the Market Risk Benefit reserve and attribution process. This includes calculating, analyzing, and communicating results effectively to leaders and peers across various functional groups.Heavily involved in maintaining and improving the models for both variable annuities and structured variable annuities.Investigate and explain complex capital market and policyholder behavior concepts to senior leaders.Collaborate with individuals in actuarial, capital markets, product management and finance departments.Build and present exhibits that assist with quarter-end and year-end reporting.Professional development to maintain Actuarial credentials.Required QualificationsAll Introductory ASA exams plus 3 Actuarial/Advanced ASA Exams or RequirementsValidation by Educational Experience (VEE) coursework completionBachelor's degree or equivalent (4-years) in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields.5-7 years of actuarial experiencePositive relationship and communication skills in working with colleagues.Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with MS Excel, VBA, MS Access, and other database applications.About Our CompanyWe're a diversified financial services leader with more than $1 trillion in assets under management and administration as of 2022.
