This position will work collaboratively with the Director of Student Services and Director of Graduate Studies on the execution of academic programs in TLI. Responsibilities will span academic advising, student advocacy, program development, and administrative tasks crucial for ensuring student success and program effectiveness. Position Responsibilities: Graduate Program Management - 40 % Serve as a key member of the Student Services team participating in the development and strategy to enhance operational efficiency and improve the student experience. Assist with or lead Student Services initiatives and programs such as new student orientation, TLI events, and TLI's graduation reception. Identify and resolve enrollment management issues as they arise in terms of course access, availability, and impact on student degree progress Analyze and summarize data to assess programs and make recommendations for improvement. Serve as primary contact and resource to program faculty on issues related to academic policies, grade submissions, and canvas Schedule classes and classroom space per academic term. Manage the development of canvas modules and pages for TLI academic programs. Provide support to faculty in assigned TLI academic programs; canvas course modules, ensuring grades are submitted on time, bi-weekly program update meetings, and sharing of campus resources to ensure student success. Student Advising & Support - 35 % Serve as the primary advisor for students pursuing a Master of Science in assigned TLI programs. Counsel and advise students on academic program policies and procedures, course selection, minor courses, and course registration. Track and review graduate student degree progress, course registration, and review degree plans for accuracy and course requirements Influence student retention and degree progress through relationship development and establishment of trust through numerous and varying contact strategies across the academic lifespan: including orientation, one-on-one appointments, workshops, and email. Employ analytical reviews of student progress reports at key academic markers such as degree progress and course completions to determine appropriate next steps for student success. Utilize and build relationships and networks that make a large university manageable and navigable for all students to ensure student's ability to make degree progress. External Program Management - 20% Manage DORS system for non-degree coursework registration. Coordinate and manage logistics for non-degree short-course programming. Serve as the main point of contact for our students, instructors, and partners participating in non-degree short course programming. Other - 5% Perform administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus four years of related work experience. Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to build relationships in an educational setting with diverse students, staff, and faculty populations. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize conflicting demands. Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work some evenings and occasional weekends Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree plus 2 years experience in higher education and student affairs, college student personnel psychology, counseling, or a field related to advising or pro ram development. Familiarity with the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. Experience working with the following systems: PeopleSoft, APLUS, GPAS, Canvas Demonstrated ability to initiate projects and programs to see them through to completion.
