Dow Jones and Company seeks an Sr. Software Engineer in Minneapolis, MN. Duties: Scale Market Data content and capabilities for all Dow Jones consumer customers under a unified platform. Harness the latest financial markets information to expand our web content that engages our customers habitually to help them make informed investment decisions, allowing us to deliver robust market data experiences across all our brands in a timely and effective way. Play a critical role in all stages of the product life cycle. Develop and maintain an application aimed at consolidating multiple feed systems of Dow Jones brands such as the Wall Street Journal, Barron's, MarketWatch.com, Investor Business Daily into a unified platform. Integrate various existing feeds into the new system and overseeing the migration process of these feeds to the unified platform. Craft the software's architecture and design based on the gathered requirements. Formulate a well-structured plan that outlines how different components will interact and function together. Ensure the final product meets high-quality standards in terms of functionality, performance, security, and user experience. Efficiently manage time to balance the various tasks, ensuring that each phase of development is completed within the allocated time frame. Collaborate closely with the internal teams to ensure alignment between the technical development and the actual business goals. Use regular communication to ensure the software meets the intended purpose. Manage the deployment process to move the developed software from the development environment to the production environment, which includes configuration management, ensuring all dependencies are met, and coordinating with relevant teams to guarantee a smooth deployment. Address issues that arise after the software has been deployed, including debugging, addressing client feedback, and implementing necessary updates or improvements. Create comprehensive documentation that outlines the software's functionalities, code structure, and any necessary instructions for maintenance or future enhancements. Tackle complex technical challenges that may arise during any phase of the software development life cycle. Identify creative solutions to overcome obstacles. $125,000 per year.
