Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The role primarily involves managing accounting processes such as analysis and reconciliation of accounting ledgers, preparation of inter-company billings, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the accurate and timely analysis and reporting of various business cycles, supporting accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close cycles.

• Collect and analyze complex financial data to perform accounting processes such as reconciling assigned accounts and preparing complex accounting ledger entries.

• Prepare and settle inter-company receivables and payables, along with property valuations.

• Participate in special projects as assigned, which may include testing system upgrades or enhancements, conducting financial analysis, and developing ad hoc reports.

• Provide timely and accurate assistance to clients within the supported business area, including the interpretation of account codes or financial reports, and work order resolution.

• Stay updated with new or proposed local, state, federal rules and regulations, and internal and external financial reporting requirements.

• Utilize a broad understanding of accounting and GAAP practices to resolve a wide range of complex issues creatively.

• Use skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to perform tasks efficiently.

Requirements • Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the oil and gas industry.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

• Familiarity with accounting software such as Oracle, SAP, and NetSuite is essential.

• Proven experience in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Knowledge of general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close procedures.

• Ability to prepare and record journal entries accurately.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be able to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
