Ameriprise Financial Senior Staff Actuary in Minneapolis, Minnesota

"Ameriprise Financial is looking to add a Senior Staff Actuary to the team! This role will provide critical support to the development and maintenance of risk management mitigation solutions involving primarily Annuity products through the use of actuarial risk models. The individual in this position will lead complex projects and develop innovative solutions related to the advancement of asset & liability models & modeling techniques.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical analysis and support by developing, maintaining, improving, and testing a variety of sophisticated actuarial models.Apply business insight and thought leadership in the design of efficient modeling solutions.Technical expert for area of responsibility, particularly annuity risk model testing and maintenance.Collaborate with Capital Markets Solutions & Treasury departments to analyze capital/liquidity impacts of model improvements and updates and potentially hedge strategy modifications and enhancements.Investigate, manage, prepare, perform, and communicate results of actuarial, financial, and risk analyses to peers and upper management.Lead the analysis of innovative solutions for management and maintenance of financial risk for new and existing products in an evolving regulatory environment.Lead projects and serve as subject matter expert on actuarial and cross-functional projects, which may include some aspects of hedge modeling.Review technical work done by other members of team or business partners.Assist with project planning within area and determine resource needs.Participate in professional development to maintain actuarial credentials.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree required, with focus on Actuarial Science, mathematics, Statistics, Data Science preferredASA with 5+ years of actuarial experienceStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate well to both technical and non-technical audiences.Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skillsStrong technical abilities (Excel, VBA, actuarial modeling software)Ability to build collaborative relationships across the organizationStrong understanding of insurance & annuity liabilities and financial modeling conceptsPreferred QualificationsFSA DesignationProphet/Prophet Enterprise experiencePrevious experience with modeling & fixed income and derivative assets and Asset/Liability analysisPrevious experience with ERM/ALM/Market risk managementPrevious experience with Structured Variable Annuity products.About Our CompanyWe're a diversified financial services leader with more than $1 trillion in assets under management and administration as of 2022.
