The coordinator will be employed at .50 time to support the work of the NumberShire project in Kentucky. The current NumberShire project: The primary aim of this multi-year randomized controlled trial is to assess the efficacy of the NumberShire Level K gaming intervention for improving math outcomes of students with or at risk for mathematics learning disabilities. The Research Coordinator will assist the PI team to ensure successful completion of the project, including coordinating project activities in Kentucky, recruiting participants, collecting/managing data, and supporting the NumberShire Team at UMN to execute detailed research activities. The Research Coordinator will be a 12-month employee of the University of Minnesota. The Research Coordinator will work closely with and be primarily supervised by Dr. Sam Choo in the Department of Educational Psychology. Initial appointment will be 1 year (2025-26), with an option for up to two additional years (2026-2028) based on performance and continued availability of funding. This position is in-person at partner sites in Kentucky. Per UMN policy, work may be done remotely when appropriate and approved by your manager. All UMN employees are expected to follow applicable public health and safety procedures. Job Responsibilities Research (100%) Assist with project coordination, including the recruitment of participants. Recruit, facilitate, and/or assist training data collectors. Coordinate data collection in school settings, including communicating with teachers and supporting hourly data-collection employees. Contribute to project dissemination efforts including technical reports, intervention materials, and other instructional resource materials for educators. Organize and lead focus group sessions, interviews, and questionnaires with educators. Enter data, clean and de-identify data, and run descriptive analysis. Communicate with UMN NumberShire staff, attend all meetings. Take notes at meetings and provide additional meeting support. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience or a combination of education and work experience to equal 8 years. English fluency (speaking, listening, reading, and writing). Interest in evidence-based interventions in math. Ability to work well with diverse populations. Desire to work with educators and young children. Reliable transportation for data collection efforts in Kentucky. Attention to detail and autonomous work. Capacity to use and navigate digital applications. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in special education, math education, or related field. K-12 math intervention, assessment, or related research experience. Experience with educational technology. Experience with data collection, data management, research methods, and writing. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: The salary range for this position is $30,000 - $34,000. Final salary offers are dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity within the department.
