Job Description

The Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program is part of U.S. Bank’s Operational Risk Management framework and is designed to provide business lines and support functions with a structure to identify and assess operational risks as well as the control environment in place to manage and mitigate those risks. This role is a second line of defense function and sits within the Risk Management & Compliance area of the bank. The RCSA Specialist partners with business line and risk leaders to facilitate and oversee the RCSA program. Also partners with other Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals, and RCA Managers to create, implement, maintain, review or oversee an effective risk management framework. This individual will be focused on work related to our technology areas and projects within the organization.

The RCSA Specialist is responsible for:

  • Providing support and oversight to business lines with respect to RCSA program and policy requirements and expectations, adequacy of risk ratings and control environments, as well as the quality and completeness of the risk and control identification.

  • Utilizing excellent analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills to execute various routines and procedures related to risk assessment and control effectiveness – including detailed review and credible challenge to business line self-assessments.

  • Proactively identifying trends and opportunities; and independently completing projects and/or activities that support continuous improvement and integration across our risk programs and risk management disciplines.

  • Becoming highly proficient with U.S. Banks Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system – quickly developing the ability to review, organize and rationalize large and various amounts of information to draw meaningful conclusions/recommendations.

  • Creating and presenting executive presentations with emphasis on accuracy, relevancy, and attention to detail.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Typically more than eight years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience in financial services and/or related risk management, audit, control design, or quality assurance activities

  • Experience with Operational Risk program design and administration, ideally including facilitation of risk and control identification within a technology related business function

  • Effective relationship building and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively work with others as part of a high performing team, work under pressure in a fluctuating environment, and manage the delivery/execution of a wide range of tasks and initiatives

  • Strong analytical, process facilitation and project management skills

  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with reporting and proficiency utilizing U.S. Banks Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system a plus

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $116,280.00 - $136,800.00 - $150,480.00
