The Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) Department at Children's Minnesota is seeking PGY2 or higher residents from University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics, Medicine-Pediatrics, or Family Medicine Program who are interested in moonlighting opportunities. Children's PHM team is a collaborative medical practice of pediatricians and pediatric nurse practitioners who specialize in the care of hospitalized infants, children and teenagers. A 24/7/365 on-site service located at both the Minneapolis and St. Paul hospital campuses. While working under the supervision of an attending hospitalist, you will assist the PHM teams with clinical duties. See patients directly and communicate with attending physicians. Respondpromptlyto all requests received from nursing staff and other members of Children's multidisciplinary team regarding patient care . Document findings and care in the medical record according to hospital and program protocol. Discuss any conflicts in patient care issues and shiftcompletingtime, with theon- callphysician to ensure adequate transfer of care without jeopardizing ACGME regulations. If admitting new patients, communicateto the receiving team prior to shift completion. Provide safe, effective, and compassionate patient care. DHS Background Study Required: Yes Qualifications License/Certification/Registration required? Yes *PGY2 or higher resident from University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics, Medicine-Pediatrics, or Family Medicine Program that rotates with Children's Minnesota. *Must have completed at >2 inpatient hospital medicine rotations. *Agree that moonlighter shifts will not violate residency duty hours or program requirements (e.g. not scheduled on another shift, not on back-up call for residency). *Letter of support from residency program director. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Clinical competency and expertise in caring for hospitalized children. *Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics. *Knowledge of common medication, side effects and contraindications. *In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices. *Excellent oral and written communication skills. *Respect for patient's confidentiality. *Compassionate and approachable. *Responsible and trustworthy. The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs. In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits.
