Quality Engineer

Position: Quality Engineer

Department: Quality Team Department

Primary Objective of Position

This position is responsible for supporting the Quality Team to ensure products and processes comply with relevant requirements of Quality Management System and IS09001, and managing the Quality Management System. Also, will be responsible to drive continuous improvement initiatives on all the areas of the company, using Quality tools to guide the process.

Major Areas of Accountability

  1. Assist in establishing, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System; ensuring integrity of the data.

  2. Responsible for maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System.

  3. Perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for production and operation concerns.

  4. Support Quality Team to ensure products and processes comply with relevant requirements of Quality Management System and IS09001.

  5. Conduct full cycle internal audits; compile and present final determination to management.

  6. Review and analyze nonconformance reports; delivering insightful recommendations that drive actions to improve quality of on-time delivery.

  7. Analyze customer complaints; determine root cause and create corrective and preventative actions.

  8. Interacts and supports Purchasing; evaluation of external suppliers including on-site audits.

  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Education and Experience:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering, or related study required.

  • Knowledge in Quality Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, or Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of SAP plus.

  • Experience with quality tools such as: CAPA, PDCA, Six Sigma, DFMA, etc.

  • Experience with quality, inspection, inspection equipment and supplier certification systems.

  • Experience performing process risk assessments and risk management activities; Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA).

  • Experience preparing Quality, Test, Audit and Inspection Plans.

  • Experience reading text and blueprints as well as drafting symbols, welding symbols and geometric tolerancing symbols.

  • Self-motivated individual who can make decisions, pay attention to detail and organization, problem-solving, excellent technical writing, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work within a team, and as an individual contributor.

  • Ability to communicate and present detailed, technical initiatives to non-technical people.

  • Ability to travel 10%, including internationally.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical ability to travel freely within manufacturing and office facilities. This requires climbing stairs and moving over, around, and about shop machinery. Have the physical ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds unassisted.
