To collect and organize data for research activities. To collaborate with the PI in the generation and testing of research hypotheses and data analysis, writing of papers, grants, and reports, and preparation of presentations and lectures. Education/Outreach 40% To develop educational materials on aerosol biosecurity for learners of various backgrounds including engineers, veterinarians and scientists. To attend, participate, or present at laboratory meetings, seminars, graduate and undergraduate lectures, and conferences as needed Other 10% To perform miscellaneous laboratory and office duties as assigned by the PI including, but not limited to, ordering supplies and reagents and help the PI in the organization and coordination of meetings and projects. To maintain frequent communication with other faculty and collaborators, including, if required traveling to destinations to meet with collaborators and collect data. Qualifications Required Qualifications: The candidate must have a completed a PhD degree by start date. A DVM degree, or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution, is required for this position. Candidates should be able to demonstrate significant experience on aerosol biosecurity research as related to swine health. Candidates with a strong background in virology, molecular diagnostics, cell culture methods, experimental design, aerobiology and swine infectious diseases will be given preference. The candidate has demonstrated an interest in aerosol biosecurity and understanding of testing methods for virus aerosolization, air sampling and virus testing. Strong organizational, quantitative analysis, and writing skills are necessary.
