The successful candidate will participate in ongoing research projects funded by NIH aiming to develop cutting-edge functional MRI (fMRI) and MR spectroscopy imaging (MRSI) techniques and integrate multi-photon imaging technology with MRI/MRSI for brain research at ultrahigh field (UHF). The research will be conducted at the University's world-renowned Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR, https://www.cmrr.umn.edu), in collaboration with colleagues from CMRR and/or other partner institutions. Responsibilities * Play a key role in advancing high-resolution fMRI and signal processing methods, as well as other tools aiming to study brain function, connectivity, neuroenergetics, and neural origin of fMRI BOLD signals at different scales (20% effort) * Perform imaging studies, collect and processing imaging data, perform statistical analysis and summarize results and findings (40% effort) * Interact with team members and collaborators for research projects (20% effort) * Mentor students conducting research (10% effort) * Prepare manuscript(s) and presentation(s) for scientific conferences (10% effort) * Additional research opportunities and scholarly activities are available depending on the interests and background of the candidate. Required Qualifications: * PhD in medical physics, biomedical engineering, fMRI and/or MRSI technology for brain research or in a similar field * Extensive experience in MRI physics and methods, computer programming and image signal processing * Experience in performing animal and/or human imaging studies * Strong communication and organization skills * Track record of scientific publications Preferred Qualifications: * Some acknowledge about brain function and neurophysiology * Integrity, hardworking and good for team work * independent research skill and thoughts.
