Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? The Managed Portfolio Strategies team acts as primary internal investment advisory support for managed solutions at RBC WM. The team supports client-facing professionals and key internal partners in promoting managed solutions (ETFs, mutual funds, managed accounts, multi-asset solutions, and model portfolios) by offering expert investment advice and support related to portfolio reviews, investment strategy, product selection, and portfolio construction. The Portfolio Associate actively supports the MPS team in internal training, education, and marketing campaigns focused around managed assets and provides product recommendations and portfolio-level investment advice to client-facing professionals. What will you do? Focus majority of activity in support of MPS analysts as they deliver investment advice to financial advisors. Proactively organize and facilitate timely information flow and actionable investment ideas to MPS analysts and advisors utilizing managed solutions. Gather data and related content from a wide array of sources, including but not limited to investment advisors, third party databases, and other publicly available resources. Maintain the quality, functionality, and usefulness of the information and tools provided by MPS via the firm's intranet service. Construct and update marketing documents for RBC's Discretionary Portfolios as well as maintain proprietary tools and resources used to support the model portfolios. Develop and maintain proprietary and external tools, software programs, and information sources for purposes of ongoing analysis and reporting of initiatives, projects, and usage data. Assist with the production and communication of thought leadership that helps to inform and educate advisors on industry trends, popular investment themes, and timely portfolio construction ideas. Support the development and growth of RBC Wealth Management's advisory platforms. What do you need to succeed? Must haves: Undergraduate degree with preferred concentration in accounting, business, economics, finance, math, and/or international studies. General knowledge of and interest in financial markets and investment industry. Proficient in use of MS Office products, as well as key analytical tools - Morningstar, Informa PSN, FactSet, Bloomberg, etc. Understanding of key investment products and concepts including portfolio management, investment strategy (asset allocation), separately managed accounts, mutual funds, exchange traded products, and alternative investments. Attention to detail and organized. Strong analytical / critical thinking / problem solving skills. Nice-to-have: Securities industry licenses SIE, 7 and 63 and 65 (or series 66) or willingness to pursue. Willingness to pursue CFA, CFP, CIMA or other professional development opportunities.
