As the # 2 ranked MHA program in the country, the Minnesota Master of Healthcare Administration program is a destination graduate degree within a top 10 school of public health. Starting Salary Range: $62,000 - $72,000 annually, dependent upon the selected candidate's relevant qualifications, experience, and internal equity. This position is in-person 4 days per week during the academic year and 75% virtual during the summer months, with the expectation of being on campus during summer student events. Onsite location: Mayo Memorial Building 420 Delaware St SE, East Bank TC Campus Position Overview The Program Operations Manager plays a critical role in supporting the overall experience of students in both the Executive and Full-time MHA tracks. As a key member of the MHA team, this individual manages the day-to-day operations of the program, coordinates large-scale events such as orientations and career fairs, and provides comprehensive operational oversight. This position also oversees financial processes, data management, and employee onboarding, while ensuring compliance with university policies. Additionally, this role involves supervising support staff. Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this dynamic, fast-paced position. Responsibilities: Event Management (30%) Manage and contribute to the planning of on-site recruiting and current student activities, including interview days, admitted student days, orientation, career fair, etc. for residential programs. Key contributor to developing engaging and meaningful student programming for executive and residential MHA students. In collaboration with program leadership, lead the planning and execution of on-campus sessions for the Executive program. This includes, Collaborate with the team to identify and manage technology needs for student experiences to meet the needs of students participating in person and virtually. Collaborate with MHA program leadership on alumni association board and committee meetings and activities as needed. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote events, leveraging social media, email campaigns, and website content. Work with program leadership to evaluate event success through post-event surveys, feedback collection, and attendance data analysis. Maintain an event budget, tracking expenses and ensuring financial accountability for all event-related activities. Identify opportunities to enhance student engagement through innovative event formats, such as case competitions, panel discussions, or experiential learning activities. Coordinate guest speakers, alumni, and industry professionals for events, managing schedules and communication to ensure a professional experience. Finance and Data Management (25 ) Oversee financial reimbursements for students (professional development funds and travel) and faculty, coordinating with the SPH finance team to reconcile billing. Monitor and track data related to applicants, admissions, registrations, benchmarks, retention, and graduation. Travel Coordination: Oversee travel arrangements for faculty, staff, and students, offering recommendations and information on travel policies. Procurement and Contracts: Collaborate with University departments and vendors to purchase equipment, supplies, software, and other items. Manage and process all vendor contracts. Competency Tracking and Accreditation: Work with program leadership to track and document key student competencies, including managing biannual and annual surveys for students, alumni, and stakeholders, as required by accreditation standards. Create and administer course competency assessments for Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) accreditation. Financial Compliance: Liaise with Executive MHA program leadership and SPH finance teams to ensure financial compliance with University policies, particularly when working with organizational collaborators and program partners. Implement appropriate payment processes with operational support staff. Reporting: Prepare and present reports on budget status and student event participation, including mid-year budgeting reports and audits of student travel and case competition expenses. Recruitment and Engagement (20%) Primary Contact for Executive Students: Serve as the main point of contact for all current Executive MHA students regarding operational issues, ensuring responsive and effective support. Engage with Executive Populations: Demonstrate comfort and proficiency in working with executive-level students, understanding their unique needs and expectations. Support Recruitment Activities: Collaborate with the program lead and operations support staff to plan and execute high-quality recruitment events and strategies. Develop Best Practices: Partner with the Leadership Team to establish and refine best practices for international and experiential programming, enhancing the educational experience for students. Promote New Initiatives: Engage with program leadership to create and advocate for new executive program initiatives and non-degree offerings. Supervision (15%): Oversee day-to-day activities of the Operations support staff member and graduate student employees (as needed), ensuring smooth and efficient execution of assigned tasks. Provide regular coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to support staff, fostering professional growth and improving performance. Monitor and evaluate staff workload to ensure balanced task distribution, adjusting as necessary to meet department priorities. Facilitate regular check-ins with MHA Operations and student services staff to review project progress, address challenges, and ensure alignment with program goals.
