Spectrum Plastics Master Maintenance Technician I in Minneapolis, Minnesota

SUMMARY:

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, routine maintenance and repair to pneumatic, electro-mechanical, hydraulic and CNC machines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Support the SPG safety program.

  • Actively promote and drive a culture of safety.

  • Perform and document routine preventative maintenance.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs and documents routine preventative maintenance on all machines per schedule.

  • Replenishes liquids as needed to maintain prescribed operating levels.

  • Checks and repairs broken lines and hoses and valves as needed. Determines and reports location of leak to supervisor for repair scheduling.

  • Cleans the screws and barrels on the presses and checks them for wear.

  • Reports out-of-tolerance conditions to supervisor for repair or replacement.

  • Trouble-shoots machine problems and reports findings to supervisor.

  • Repairs machines following supervisors’ guidelines.

  • Replaces viewing windows in presses as needed.

  • Repairs or overhauls portable equipment or components removed from machine.

  • Wires molds prior to installation into a press.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Hydraulic and electrical knowledge is required for this position.
